Heat Pumps in Errington
We install and service heat pumps in Errington, an unincorporated rural community about 8 km southwest of Parksville off Highway 4, and we size systems for farm properties and acreage lots right across it.
What do we install out here?
We install ducted and ductless heat pumps for farm and acreage properties, sizing multi-zone ductless setups for homes that heat more than one building or an addition without existing ductwork.
What makes a rural property different?
These properties sit on larger rural lots with an older electrical panel and well water — we run a load calculation before quoting so you know whether a panel upgrade is part of the job.
What rebates can you claim?
You qualify for the CleanBC and BC Hydro rebates available across the Oceanside region, worth up to $13,000 depending on household income and the system being replaced, plus the Regional District of Nanaimo rebate covered below — see our rebate guide for the full breakdown.
Is there money here that Parksville doesn't get?
There is: $2,000. Errington sits inside an RDN electoral area, so the Regional District of Nanaimo's fossil-fuel conversion rebate is open to you and closed to the City of Parksville and Qualicum Beach. It stacks with your CleanBC money. To qualify you need to be coming off oil, propane or natural gas, and we have to take the old system out entirely — keeping it as a backup disqualifies the job, and so does replacing a unit that has already failed. The work also has to go to a contractor on the CleanBC Better Homes register, and we're on it. Claims close 14 December each year.
How far can the outdoor unit sit from the heads?
Every ductless system has two limits: how much refrigerant line can run between the outdoor unit and the indoor heads, and how much vertical rise or drop sits between them. The manufacturer sets both for each model. Go past either and you lose capacity — the system still runs, it just won't deliver what it was rated for. That's why we settle placement on site. On acreage it matters more than it does on a small lot, because the spot that keeps the outdoor unit out of sight or away from a bedroom window can sit a long way from the rooms you want heated. We walk the route with you, measure it, and check it against the model's limits before we order anything.
